All Musque clone harvested by hand on September 28, 2010. The grapes were carefully pressed in small batches & then 100% of the juice was fermented in a small stainless steel tank at very cold temperatures. As a result of this handling, it is characterized by a slightly grassy, floral, & grapefruit aromas with a rich mouthfeel while maintaining a cool, crisp, food friendly acidity.

This vineyard originally planted in 1989 is a pleasure to behold; sitting in a protected southwest facing dell overlooking the Salinas Valley. Hand harvested on 9/20/10, light and fruity with notes of pear and apple; slightly smoky with a crisp acidity, minerality and long finish. Enjoy on its own or with crab cakes, seafood bisque, chicken cordon bleu or a spring vegetable stew.

This small bottling of Pinot Gris is from our Estate vineyard 700 feet above sea level and 14 miles from the ocean in Carmel Valley. There is less than ¼ of an acre planted to Pinot Gris on the property and it is planted on soil is known locally as “chalk rock” which is a mineral-rich chalky looking shale. Lovely, fragrant and balanced wine. It has yeasty, spicy and slight honeysuckle aromas. On the palate it is bright, light and spicy with a touch of toasty hazelnut, French oak and vanilla.

This 2008 vintage was one of the very best in recent memory in California. Aged in barrel, 9 months: produced & bottled without fining or filtration keeping the wine in its natural state & allowing the fruit flavors to shine through. This wine is a pure varietal expression of Chardonnay with flavors of ripe apple, lemon, melon & a distinct minerality. The firm acidity of this Chardonnay creates a structure that gives it a refreshing profile that pairs well with a variety of foods including seafood, chicken, or hors d’ oeuvres.

Coast View vineyard is located in a remote area on top of the Gavilan Mountains at a dramatic elevation of 2400 ft. Planted in decomposed granite, organically grown. 2008 vintage was one of the very best in recent memory in California. Flavors of apple cider & poached pear with distinct notes of toasted oak & nutmeg. This wine pares well seafood & poultry but is enjoyable on its own.

Tondre Grapefield Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands 73 cases bottled 08/11
Our first ever Santa Lucia Highlands Chardonnay. These grapes were hand-picked and then pressed them whole-cluster, settled the juice for a short time and then racked it off of the lees into French Oak barrels. It fermented in barrel and was aged sur lies. This is our most opulent, complex California-style Chardonnay yet but still retains balanced acidity and offers aromas and flavors of toasty oak, vanilla, butterscotch, melon and sports a lengthy finish.

These vines are grown on a well-drained, sloped river bench that looks over the Salinas River. We pressed this juice carefully & fermented it slowly in a small stainless steel tank to preserve its delicate nature. The result: floral, apple & line aromas, delicious balance mouthfeel & a crisp, lingering finish.
