Trashion Show 2015
Cima Collina hosted their 2nd Annual Trashion Show as a benefit for Hidden Valley arts institute in celebration of Earth Day on Sunday, April 12, 2015.

Cima Collina’s Staff Pick “Honorable Mention” – Designer/Model: Merve Girgin Yanar “Blooming Daisy” - A summer dress made from plastic water bottles. She assembled the materials with staples and silicon glue. She is carrying one bouquet of daisies and a bag filled with small daisies made from plastic too.

“Most Creative” - Designer: Mercedes Maciel Model: Marisela Lara What she created – “Red Carpet Mermaid” - A strapless, mermaid style evening gown made with VHS and cassette tapes - the final look was awarded. Her creation walked the runway three times with three different looks. The first being the “Sunday Dress,” second “From Day to Date,” and third “Red Carpet Mermaid.”

“Arctic Cystals” - She used recycled plastic bags, paper, tissue, ribbon and a blanket. She is wearing a white plastic, paper, and tissue dress inspired by ice crystals and the snow. One of the judges, Lisa Manning, Director of Community Development at Hidden Valley, said it was “so stylish and the fabrication was really elegant. This was the dress I could imagine actually wearing.”

“Best Accessorized” – Designer: Molly Lefholz Models: Molly Lefholz & dog “Sparrow” “Daphne’s Doggie Designs” Rainwear - She used shrink wrap from Stone’s Pet Shop and Cima Collina red and white tissue paper, cut out words from magazines and newspaper to create big floppy hat, a cape, a matching purse, and repurposed umbrella. Along with a matching outfit for her dog “Sparrow.” One of the judges, Lee Larrew from Carmel Chamber & Sustainable Carmel, says it had “recycled impact from head to toe and paw to tail!”
