Yes, we are opening a Tasting Room

Posted in Uncategorized on April 26th, 2007 by annette

All of us here are pleased to announce our tasting room in Carmel-by-the-Sea!  It is located on the west side of San Carlos between Ocean and 7th, and we are looking forward to a grand opening in early June.  In addition to a wine tasting room, we are also collaborating with local artists from the Monterey Bay region to show and sell their art in the space as well.

Our new 2006 Sauvignon Blanc will be released May 1st and I’m very happy with how it turned out — it is crisp and fruity, but has nice texture and weight on the palate.  I haven’t made Sauvignon Blanc in many years, so it was a fun challenge to try something new and use some ideas that have been waiting in the starting gates.

And you thought being a winemaker and managing a small winery is all fun and games!

wizoz_liontigerbear_ohmy.bmpDon’t get me wrong.  I’m not complaining here.  I’ve just been swept up by a twister and have finally landed in my sparkly red shoes and realized that yes, I’m not in Kansas anymore.  Simply put things are going well.  Really well.  And as a result, if I thought I was busy before, well, now it is just plain crazy.  Which is why I haven’t written in quite awhile.  Sales are going very well, the wines are being well received, we are getting calls and requests, emails and demands left and right.  This is one of those times back in the days when a winery is starting up — those blistering, scary yet enduringly hopeful days — that one wishes for and here we are.  We’ve done a whirlwind of tastings and dinners, we are planning our next wine club shipment (in just a few weeks!), we are finally bottling a pretty nifty little Sauvignon Blanc this week (our first SB, and definitely not our last), getting a tasting room going — and dealing with all the perks of a bureaucratic exercise — (our tasting room will be in Carmel — more updates on that in the near future), expanding sales into the Bay Area, etc. etc.

Wine Club Members be alert — your newsletter will arrive by US Postal Service within the next week!

I have come up for air for a time here, and will be back to update you all on what is happening here soon.
